VDA-Net
VDA-Net is an intuitive web interface to all the traffic monitoring data stored in the backend database.

With the new release of VDA-Net, we put even more power into the fingertips of the users. Unlocking new admin control options now allows for manually collected data files to be uploaded directly to the database. The data editing suite ensures users can validate data files before committing them to the database for all users to run reports against.

Data Sharing
Data sharing is seamless, with unlimited user accounts for the system. Each account can be configured by the administrator to control which sites can be accessed as well as the type of data that can be viewed and for how long the access is active for. System administrators can rest easy knowing that all other users will only have read-only access and don’t have the ability to modify or remove data files from the database.

 

TagMaster roadside monitors can record either VBV (vehicle by vehicle) data and the application allows large ranges of VBV data to be loaded and analysed. The customisable, stackable data filters allow for detailed analysis of subsets of data.

Integrated Mapping
Includes integrated mapping feature to allow users to more easily locate the best data to fit their requirements.

 

Speed Monitoring
Live traffic data streamed from the TrafficRadar to the VDA-Net platform allows for live speed and flow data to be monitored and alerts raised on the Smart Map when abnormal flow conditions are detected on the network.

Journey Time Module
The module delivers link analysis features, allowing the long-term analysis of journey time data to be delivered to end users via the internet. The module includes mapping to help users visualise links and a range of reports and options to help end users get the most value from the data.

Annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT) Monitoring
AADT is the standard measurement for vehicle traffic load on a section of road, and the basis for most decisions regarding transport planning, or to the environmental hazards of pollution related to road transport.

Long term collection or sampling of data enables transport planners to see yearly growth on the road network, AADT (annual average daily total) and AAWT (annual average weekday total) are calculated and tracked by VDA to instantly report 5 and 7-days annual growth % for each site.

Events Calendars
Global events, such as national holidays, can be plotted on a calendar which are then highlighted on any dataset and easily chosen to be excluded from summarised reports to ensure this doesn’t inadvertently skew results. Local events calendars are also available for the same purpose but on an individual site basis to highlight localised disruptions to traffic, such as a road traffic accident (RTA), roadworks, town fair or similar. Once again, these events are shown when data ranges are loaded to inform the user that the flows are likely to be different to expected, the event period can then be chosen to be excluded from reports if required.

Site Management
Full site management is now available, site details and channel information can be modified by admin users only. An unlimited number of images can be assigned to site locations to track site layout, keep a record of the condition of the site and to also provide users who may not be familiar with the location some context as to the road layout.

Asset Status
Live status information is available for all sites.

Communications, power & sensor alerts will be highlighted and displayed. Any data validation alerts raised can be manually cleared down by the administrator for the database.

Live email alerts can also be configured if required for a more immediate response

Responsive Framework
VDA-Net is built on a responsive framework so it can be easily used on small devices such as tablets and mobile phones, whilst still making use of the space available on a desktop PC. The use of HTML 5 delivers a modern, elegant and accessible interface.

Enhanced Web Analysis
The website is built on APIs giving a responsive client experience. The REST architecture offers enhanced user-perceived performance and the ability to easily scale the system.

Security Framework
VDA-Net offers enhanced account security by using the latest Microsoft Identity Framework. The framework allows the application to be configured so that users can log-in with accounts from other providers such as Linked-In, Facebook, Microsoft and Twitter. The framework also has the ability to add more security using two-factor authentication with SMS and email.

Online Help

VDA-Net is provided with an extensive, integrated online help system to allow users help with using the system and understanding the data reports.

Hosting & Customisation

Websites can be deployed on customer servers or hosted by TagMaster UK. The website has been designed so it can easily be customised for individual customers. By using a custom master page and custom cascading style sheet (CSS) the product can be given corporate branding to be consistent with other internet content.
